Exemption Listing

Exemptions 

The Utah Open exemption policy is established by the Utah Section PGA Board of Directors and is subject to change from year to year. The following are the current guidelines for “exemptions from qualifying” for the 2008 Siegfried & Jensen Utah Open Professionals and Amateur entrants. Exemptions will be prioritized as follows:

1) All past Champions of the Utah Open. 2) Up to ten Special Utah Open Committee Exemptions (based on Committee Guidelines). 3) The past five champions from the following events: 3a) Utah Section Championship; 3b) Utah PGA Assistants Championship; 3c) Utah Section Match Play Championship; 3d) Utah Section CPC Championship; 3e) Utah Section Nike Winter Classic; 3f) Utah Senior Open. 4) The top twenty finishers and ties in the 2007 Siegfried & Jensen Utah Open. 5) The Current Champion of any Utah Section Affiliated Open Event (list event name). 6) The next ten players and ties from the current Utah Section PGA “Player of the Year” points list, not otherwise exempted. 7) The next ten players and ties from the current Utah Section PGA “Assistant Player of the Year” points list, not otherwise exempted. 8) Any Utah Section PGA Member or Apprentice in good standing that files a completed entry form by the deadline. 9) The current Champions of the following state opens: 9a) Arizona; 9b) California; 9c) Colorado; 9d) Idaho; 9e) Montana; 9f) Nevada; 9g) Oregon; 9h): New Mexico 9i) Washington; 9j) Wyoming. 10) The Top five finishers from the current “points list” for each of the following Sections: 10a) Colorado; 10b) Rocky Mountain; 10c) Southwest; 10d) Pacific Northwest; 10e) Sun Country. 11) The past five champions from the Utah Amateur Championship (2004-2008). 12) The current Champions of the following events: 12a) UGA Mid-Am; 12b) Utah Senior Amateur; 12c) UGA Tournament of Champions- Club Champs Division; 12d) UGA Tournament of Champions- Am Champs Division; 12e) UGA Winter Champs; 12f) Utah Jr. Amateur Champ; 12g) Pepsi Jr. Champ; Westfield PGA Champ. 12f) The Salt Lake City Amateur Champ. 13) Top ten finishers and ties from the current 2008 UGA Player Performance list through 7/31/08.

 

Any entry form may be rejected or revoked at any time after receipt. General conditions for revocation are listed in the Utah Section PGA Tournament Regulations, Constitution and By-Laws, and include all Tournament “Dress Code” and “Sportsmanship Regulations”.
* Players must meet the above definition of eligibility.
* Exemption status must be noted on the online entry form!
* Eligibility and exemption policies or appeals will be decided by the Utah Section PGA Board of Directors - their decisions are final.

 

Tournament Waiver

The Utah Open Executive Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any application for cause.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants must be: 1) Utah Section PGA Members and Apprentices in good standing; 2) PGA Members and Apprentices in good standing; 3) Non-Amateurs (un-affiliated professionals) as defined by the USGA; 4) Amateurs that meet USGA and UGA criteria and have a handicap index of 6.7 or less. Note- Contestants entering as Amateurs are not eligible for Professional Purse Money.

* Dress Code- NO SHORTS (for Men); No Jeans; No Metal Spikes; Shirts must have “collars”- “mocks” are acceptable.
* Entrants shall be subject to standard releases and agreements concerning: the use of non-metal spikes; the use of participants name and/or likeness for tournament promotion purposes; and general/standard tournament liability exclusions.
* Players must meet the above definition of eligibility.
* Exemption status must be noted on the online entry form!
* All Professional play will be from the back tees.
* Eligibility and exemption policies or appeals will be decided by the Utah Section PGA Board of Directors - their decisions are final.

Withdrawal's will incur a $25 administration fee prior to August 8th 5:00 PM of $25. After August 10th but prior to 4:00 PM August 15th a $100 administration fee will be assessed. After 4:00 PM August 15th no refunds will be given.
