There is a 36 Hole Cut to 60 Players and Ties

Seniors (age 50 and older) are Eligible for a Senior “Side Bar Purse”

Professionals May be Required to Play in at Least One Pro-Am Event

    $125.00 Open Qualifying Fee/Non-Exempt Amateur.

  (Amateur entrants must have a USGA index of 6.7 or lower)

   $125.00 Open Qualifying Fee/No Exempt Professionals.

   $225.00 Utah Section Professional Entry Fee.  

  $150.00 Exempt Amateur Entry Fee. 

  $350.00 Other Exempt Professionals Entry Fee.

 Senior Professional- Must be 50 years of age or older on 8/20/07 to be eligible for the “Senior Sidebar” Purse.

Exemptions 

The Utah Open exemption policy is established by the Utah Section PGA Board of Directors and is subject to change from year to year. The following are the current guidelines for “exemptions from qualifying” for the 2008 Siegfried & Jensen Utah Open Professionals and Amateur entrants. Exemptions will be prioritized as follows:

1) All past Champions of the Utah Open.

2) Up to ten Special Utah Open Committee Exemptions (based on Committee Guidelines).

3) The past five champions from the following events:

3a) Utah Section Championship;

3b) Utah PGA Assistants Championship;

3c) Utah Section Match Play Championship;

3d) Utah Section CPC Championship;

3e) Utah Section Nike Winter Classic;

3f) Utah Senior Open.

4) The top twenty (20) finishers and ties in the 2007 Siegfried & Jensen Utah Open.

5) The Current Champion of any Utah Section Affiliated Open Event (list event name).

6) The next ten players and ties from the current Utah Section PGA “Player of the Year” points list, not otherwise exempted.

 7) The next ten players and ties from the current Utah Section PGA “Assistant Player of the Year” points list, not otherwise exempted.

8) Any Utah Section PGA Member or Apprentice in good standing that files a completed entry form by the deadline.

9) The current Champions of the following state opens:

9a) Arizona;

9b) California;

9c) Colorado;

9d) Idaho;

9e) Montana;

9f) Nevada;

9g) Oregon

9h) New Mexico;

9i) Washington

9j) Wyoming.

10) The Top five finishers from the current “points list” for each of the following Sections:

10a) Colorado;

10b) Rocky Mountain;

10c) Southwest;

10d) Pacific Northwest;

10e) Sun Country.

11) The past five champions from the Utah Amateur Championship (2004-2008).

12) The current Champions of the following events:

12a) UGA Mid-Am;

12b) Utah Senior Amateur;

12c) UGA Tournament of Champions- Club Champs Division;

12d) UGA Tournament of Champions- Am Champs Division;

12e) UGA Winter Champs;

12f) Utah Jr. Amateur Champ;

12g) Pepsi Jr. Champ; Westfield PGA Champ.

12f) The Salt Lake City Amateur Champ.

13) Top ten finishers and ties from the current 2008 UGA Player Performance list through 7/31/08.

#2 on exemption listing. The Utah Open Committee may grant up to 10 exemptions into the tournament proper. The committee will use the following criteria to extend such exemptions:

Ties to the Utah Golf Community and/or a national and/or international profile (PGA Tour,Nationwide Tour or European Tour experience). Please submit your request and Playing Profile to swhittaker@pgahq.com

It is suggested that those seeking exemption first enter the qualifying and then make application for an exemption at swhittaker@pgahq.com

All Professional Entrants will be required to play in at least one Pro-Am Event. Professional Entrants (including professional qualifiers) must submit their pro-am preferences on the Pro-am signup form. Pro-Am assignments will be made and requests must be verified through the Utah Section Office.

Exempt Entrants must sign up online by: 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2008. Entries for the “Open Qualifying” will be accepted until the qualifying field is full (144 players).

The Qualifying date is: Monday, August 18, 2008 at Glen Eagle Golf Club, Syracuse, UT.

All Professional Entrants will be required to play in at least one Pro-Am Event.

Professional Entrants (including professional qualifiers) must submit their pro-am preferences on the Pro-am sign-up form. Pro-Am assignments will be made and requests must be verified through the Utah Section Office

Withdrawal's will incur a $25 administration fee prior to August 8h 4:00 PM of $25. After August 8th but prior to 4:00 PM August 15th a $100 administration fee will be assessed. After 5:00 PM August 15th no refunds will be given.
