August 20,2007, Glen Eagle G.C., Syracuse, Utah
The 2007 Siegfried & Jensen Utah Open Qualifier
Perfect scoring conditions lead to the lowest qualifying scores in many years as thirty-one players shot two under par 70 or better to fill out the Utah Open. The assault on par was lead by Matt Phillips of Twin Falls, Idaho who fired a course record tying nine under par 63. The scores kept getting lower as the day went on as the lack of wind left the Glen Eagle Golf Course defenseless. Sixteen players at one under, 71 were left on the outside looking in and played off for the seven alternate spots. The tournament focus now moves to Oakridge Country Club where the field of 159 players will begin play Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. For all the latest on this year's Utah Open go to www.utahpga.com or click the links below.
